7pm Vibes

Hey everyone!

Back with another blog but this time it's a little different. I want to talk to you all about that 7pm feeling. You know when you're done with work but you aren't going home? You might head out with your friends to grab a few drinks, nosh on some food and party the night away. The options are endless.

This blog will revolve around an outfit I wore on my most recent night out in LA. I'm going to run through it, from top to bottom.

Skinny Innovator Black Wool Blend Twill Tuxedo Jacket

I love everything about this tuxedo jacket. From the satin detailing to the high peak lapels, this jacket is as timeless as it is comfortable. Speaking of comfort, the fit is immaculate. It doesn't ride up to high, it doesn't crease in an odd place and the sleeve length is perfect (fyi I am wearing a 38R). Pick it up here if you want to give it a try. I can't recommend this Express piece enough. The reason I love it is that it allows you to combine and switch out your look. You can dress it with a shirt as I have done here or a basic white tee to even a thin sweater. It fits the 7pm vibe perfectly. Wherever you are headed to, it won't let you down.

AllSaints Print Shirt

I love a print shirt. It's undeniable. From the beach to the bar, a print shirt is never out of place. This shirt is black with little love heart ying yang symbols all over. I always wear it with a few buttons down with a necklace to give it a casual but sophisticated look.

Joe's Black Jeans

These are my go-to black jeans in my wardrobe. They are tight fit but they are super comfortable. They have a perfectly tapered ankle so they will not hang over your boots awkwardly as many jeans do. I have not tailored these at all, this is how they fit off the rack.

Aldo Black Suede Chelsea Boots

Anyone who follows me knows how much I love Chelsea boots. From black to grey to tan to orange, I always find a way to fit them into whatever look I am going for. Here they pair nicely with the tapered ankle of my jeans and add another black dimension to an outfit that already has a print shirt and jacket in the same color.

Hope you all enjoyed this blog :) I'll be back with more soon!

Denim Days!

Denim Days!

Hey Guys!

I know I haven’t blogged in a little while but I’m bringing you some new looks today all revolving around denim. Denim is so important for style. Whether it's the perfect pair of skinny jeans or a well worn out denim jacket, denim provides an essential item for anyone's wardrobe. Big love to Express who helped me put this together, thankful for being an #ExpressPartner for these looks.  Without further ado, enjoy!

Look #1

On top, I’ve chosen a super soft grey long sleeve henley tee from Express (https://www.express.com/clothing/men/supersoft-long-sleeve-henley/pro/05051977/cat3170003?CID=PR_tap_1&blakesteven=tap). I like these tees for a few reasons.

Firstly, it’s super soft. From wearing it at home to lounge around to combining it with your favorite pair of denim, it’s the perfect fit and look for any occasion. Secondly, it’s a bargain. You’ll be hard pressed to find anything this comfortable for a better price. Head over to http://express.com to check everything out!

I paired the tee with Express Super Skinny Dark Wash Jeans (https://www.express.com/clothing/men/super-skinny-dark-wash-stretch-jeans/pro/2775588/cat1830015?CID=PR_tap_1&blakesteven=tap). They are made to stretch which enables them to look skinny and fit perfectly no matter your size.

For the shoes, I am wearing a pair of R.M Williams suede chelsea boots. I have worn this pair countless times over the last few months. I am in love with them. They offer sophistication to any look and our extremely comfortable for a pair of suede boots.

Look #2

On top I have chosen a tee that perfectly reflects my favorite basketball team, the Los Angeles Lakers (who are back okay, they are back). It fits snuggly on the shoulders but isn’t too tight as many tees can be (https://www.express.com/clothing/men/homage-los-angeles-script-crew-neck-tee/pro/02491020/cat3530001?CID=PR_tap_1&blakesteven=tap)

On the lower half I have paired my favorite low top white sneakers by Louis Leeman with a Super Skinny pair of Express jeans in a lighter blue shade (https://www.express.com/clothing/men/super-skinny-ecotofriendly-365-comfort-stretch-jeans/pro/03325972/cat2000016?CID=PR_tap_1&blakesteven=tap). They are, once again, super comfortable and fit perfectly with a tailored ankle approach.

Hope you guys enjoyed the latest post!

Have an amazing Monday!

Redefining Happy Hour in LA with Perry Ellis

“Happy Hour” means a lot of things to a lot of different people. Instead of going out to drink beer and cocktails, I see Happy Hour in a slightly different way. In partnership with Perry Ellis, I’ve decided to show you guys the two things I do during that 5pm-8pm stretch that’s normally reserved for drinks in my city of LA.

LA is a coffee city. Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood. No matter the place, the fuel is caffeine. Espresso, latte, cappuccino, americano, iced americano and iced macchiato. Me? How about an iced sugar free vanilla (i’m a type 1 diabetic wanting that sweet taste okay?) latte with almond milk? Don’t judge me. Ok? Okay?

Los Angeles is home to some of the best coffee bars and spaces on the west coast. Whether you’re clocking in for a meeting at 5 or just on your computer getting work done at 6, they are the best places to work in a social setting. The coffee, combined with the warm weather, make the perfect happy hour combination.

The great thing about LA is the NUMBER of coffee shops. You can travel all over town to find the newest, best tasting spot. So that’s what I did. I ended up in West Hollywood.

I combined the Perry Ellis Navy Linen Suit Jacket (with hyperlink) with a basic white tee and the Twill Tech Shorts (with hyperlink). This allows a classic look with a modern, comfortable twist.

Furthermore, you can create a third look by simply removing the jacket when it gets a little too hot! From summer meeting vibes to beach vibes in 2 seconds.

Whilst it’s true that LA runs on coffee, LA wouldn’t survive without it’s food. That’s why there is such a big selection. The ever changing population leads to a rich, complex food scene. With food in LA, you don’t need a drink to have a good time.

Inside the wide city parameters you can try out hundreds of inexpensive but delicious cuisines. On one hand you could go downtown and try the best ribs you’ve tasted on the west coast or head to Beverly Hills to sit in luxury whilst you’re served up the best pasta this side of Italy. LA is a fusion of various food thoughts and ideas. Mexican, Chinese, Indian, El Salvadoran - LA’s ethnic foods stand above the rest. You don’t need to drink during happy hour but you certainly need to eat.

I balanced the Short Sleeve Exclusive Acid Print Shirt (with hyperlink) with a pair of Slim Fit Solid Sateen 5 Pocket pants (with hyperlink). I love the cuban feel of the colors and textures. It made me feel like I was on vacation in my own city. Combined with the cuban salad I was having and it doesn’t get much better than that.

I have some great news. Perry Ellis is having a GIVEAWAY! Do you want to win a $1000 Perry Ellis gift card? Here's how!

Winter Essentials - Top 3 Boots

Hey! So a few days ago I spoke about my top 3 coats for the winter season. Now it's time for boots :) Enjoy!

1) AllSaints Loft Suede Boot

Screen Shot 2017-01-09 at 14.21.16.png

This boot has been my number one choice this winter. It's a modern military style boot with a side vision zip. This boot is has a rubber sole and a suede pull tab at the back.

Screen Shot 2017-01-09 at 14.21.19.png

I love this boot for a whole host of different reasons. First of all it's incredibly comfortable. I have worn this boot ALL day and never had comfort issues. Secondly, just look at it. It looks industrial and stylish. It has a tough and rough looking exterior but still retains a classic feel. Third and finally, the details. It has a full leather lining that fits snugly around your foot. A personal favorite, the black leather laces give it a touch of class that is rarely seen from other military boots.

2) Aldo Croaven Boot

I have recently began to enjoy wearing Chelsea boots. I was never that into the style until I wore this pair from Aldo.

Screen Shot 2017-01-09 at 14.31.14.png

Combining features of a typical Australian boot with the classic Chelsea shape gave a new lease of life to this style. The color, termed "cognac" (or like, tan for you and me), allows a lot of combination possibilities. I have worn this boot with both blue and black jeans for going out for coffee and dinner. The possibilities are endless.

3) AllSaints Bower Boot

Now this choice is a little different.

Screen Shot 2017-01-09 at 14.21.43.png

According to AllSaints, this boot is a "A single monk strap creeper boot crafted in suede with gunmetal stud detail". Let's just say they are cool af.

This is the first shoe i've ever worn with a rubber crepe sole. It is like walking on clouds. Really. It's really quite good. Further details on this boot are the roller buckle fastening (which took me a week to get exactly right), a suede finish and the gunmetal stud detailing.

I couldn't really work out what to wear for these out of the gate but now I pair them with almost everything black. Black ripped jeans, black skinny jeans etc etc. They are different. People look.

I love them.

Winter Essentials - Top 3 Coats

Winter Essentials - Top 3 Coats

Hey everyone :)

I  want to talk about Coats. Although living in LA means that winter is essentially a British summer, my favourite item to wear during the winter months is a great coat.

I have three coats I want to highlight today.

1) The Arrivals MØLLER Long Coat

I've only had this coat for a few weeks but I wear it all the time. It is comfortable and the fabric is amazingly soft. Made with an  Italian virgin-wool blend, the Møller also feautures a satin lining to add further comfort.

Screen Shot 2017-01-09 at 13.43.12.png

It's oversized nature gives it perfect shape for layering with a hoodie or sweater underneath.

Furthermore the intricate design details take this coat to the next level. From the matte snap closure to the hidden pockets, the coat becomes luxurious without a luxury price tag.

This is the ultimate winter coat.

2) AllSaints Rainer Coat

This slim fitting coat from AllSaints has been my go-to all winter. It's a classic British tailored coat with a classic AllSaints fit. In contrast to the coat from The Arrivals, this coat has a beautiful slim fit that pairs well with thin sweaters and tees.

Screen Shot 2017-01-09 at 13.51.57.png

What I love most about this piece is the color, a light khaki. This isn't a bold camel coat nor a solely black garment, it's a perfect balance that I haven't seen many other people wear. It allows you to combine it with black jeans or blue jeans, white tees or color tees. This gives the coat extreme versatility.

Screen Shot 2017-01-09 at 13.52.01.png

3) AllSaints Naven Coat

Finally, the third coat is another AllSaints masterpiece.

Screen Shot 2017-01-09 at 14.04.23.png

This coat carries on it the "Prince of Wales" pattern, made up with variations of grey. Whilst the pattern might be traditional, the leather collar and the fit give it a modern take.

Speaking of fit, this is the third fit of the bunch. This is, to put it plainly, a regular fit. It isn't too oversized and it isn't too tight. It is the best of the both world.

You can see the level detail on the coat by finer points of the garment. It has a single button front, notch lapels, a beautiful leather under collar and a single vent back.

I love winter, even in LA, because it allows me to layer everything I own. The three above are my favorite coats that I currently own. This time next year hopefully there is more.

Abercrombie - FALL/WINTER 2016

Fall is nearing and I’m so excited to show you this amazing fall look.

On top is a “Coaches Jacket”. This jacket is Abercrombie’s take on coach-inspired styling with its full snap closure and fold-down collar, soft lining and elastic cuffs. This jacket is extremely comfortable whilst giving you the opportunity to combine it with different styles underneath.

For this look I combined it with the “Popover Hoodie”, a fuzzy feeling sweater that honestly may be the comfiest thing you have ever put on. Everything about it is a yes.

Finally, on the lower half I added “Selvedge Straight Jeans” in a dark wash. Made from authentic selvedge cotton, these jeans are comfortable yet stylish. They made the perfect combination for this look.

Made in partnership with Abercrombie.

I spent yesterday out in the sun here in Los Angeles wearing this new layered look.

This outfit contains one of their new line of plaid shirts, A&F Iconic Selvedge Straight jeans and a super comfy striped crew.

There are two shirt fit options now, slim and relaxed. Slim, for me, fits perfectly. It is tighter across the chest and the arms but is looser around the midriff and waist. Extremely comfortable and I’ve been wearing it with so many different outfits.

The long sleeve crew is extremely soft whilst being comfortable and casual. You can pair it with sweats or jeans to pull off a casual but sophisticated look.

Finally the Iconic Selvedge Straight jeans are the comfiest jeans I have worn, with a relaxed yet tailored fit. I wear them everyday now.

This has become one of my favorite looks. Thank you to Abercrombie for partnering with me on this post.

My New Favorite Sneakers - Adidas NMD

For awhile I've been looking for a new daily shoe that I could wear that is comfortable yet stylish and I've definitely found it.

The Adidas NMD.

Combining Primeknit and Boost cushioning, this shoe feels like you're walking on a cloud. It has the perfect mix of these new, fantastic materials and the high quality production that puts it all together.

These sneakers are so good, so comfortable and so stylish that they sell out as soon as they are released in their various colorways. They look new, they look modern, they look distinctive.

The first drop came before Christmas last year and it's already become a classic. The silhouette is timeless though futuristic and the continued release of new colors, patterns and materials keeps the look fresh but recognizable.

Furthermore, the difficulty of getting your hands on the sneakers make the shoe more enticing. It means something to have a pair.

Adidas' Global Director of Entertainment and Influencer Marketing Jon Wexler has explained why these, and the other shoes from Adidas that use the boost technology, are so limited in their runs.

It takes X amount of time to sew those sneakers together, and we can only get so much of this Boost material from NASA
— Jon Wexler

I've finally found the perfect shoe.
