What does 'success' mean to you?
Reading this right now.
Don't look away.
'Success' is different than many other words in the English language. It's one that holds a relatively simple definition - the accomplishment of an aim or purpose - yet holds an entirely different deep personal meaning. Your version of success could be the polar opposite of my version of success. Yet it is success all the same.
For some, success is measured only by what you leave behind when you go the grave. Others view success as a number in a bank account.
There are those who think success reaches out beyond the materialistic world and lays solely in your family, your happiness and your state of mind.
Success can also be seen as having the ability obtain what you want any time you want. Freedom in a way.
Religion would teach that success is a healthy and happy relationship with God.
If you ask a high schooler, success could very well be passing your exams, getting laid and having fun.
In 10 years what 5 things do I need in my life to determine it a success?
- Happiness: with friends and family.
- Comfort: I can provide for myself, live comfortably and without day to day stress.
- Working: Doing a job I love. It is often overused but working isn't working when you're doing something you love.
- Travel: I can continue to explore every corner of the World.
That's what I think 32 year old Blake would use to determine success.
Though, he might probably disagree.
